I planted 3 old fashioned (can't remember it's name) white lily bulbs 4 years ago and it has bloomed white. This year it looks more like the tiger lilies planted 8 to 10 feet away! It is lighter than the tiger lilies but looks just like them other wise.
I had this happen at our last home...I don't know why this happens. I had the same thing happen to my Lilies when I lived in New London. I have the colored coneflowers and they usually end up changed after a few years too. Maybe it has something to do with pollination.
