I've grown forsythia at my last house without any problems and planted some at my new house. The problem we are having is that we are losing a bush about every two months or so. The bush looks good and then slowly the green fades to a pale green and then the leaves turn brown. Then is dies.

I live in Cincinnati, Oh. The ground is clay, but the holes were dug out and topsoil, peat moss, and pine mulch was used in planting them.

    We are looking for help.
    Thanks,
    Joe

    Forsythia

I have several forsythias that have done great for several years. Now one of them has dead branches on it. I cut them off and noticed that there is a hole in the middle of the branch where I cut it, no matter where I cut there is a hole on each end. I too have been looking for an answer, it looks like something is boring thru the center of the branches.
I'm hoping the others don't get it too. Curious if yours also have that hole.
