During my absence from the site, I have become a dog owner. I took some convincing as I was terrified of dogs, big and small having been attacked on three different occasions as a child. However, I gave in and we adopted a black labrador puppy, who the kids named cosmo. He has proven to be amazing therapy and now I love dogs, still cautious, but not scared any more. He is a joy and I love him more than I thought it possible to love an animal.
Labradors do have a way of worming into your heart and are one of the most loveable family dogs you could ever wish for. Cosmo is a handsome devil isn't he? Do tell us all about him, his adventures with you and what his favourite toys are, does he love to swim, race around after a ball. I want to know everything!!
Labs are wonderful bit goofy lovable friends they love playing fetch soooo much if ya dont play they will find stuff and drop it at your feet. We had one that would pick up a stick in the yard and bring it to you if you ignored him he would twist his head banging you on the leg with the stick till you threw it.
Well, Cosmo is a "therapy dog" in that he has taught you how wonderful it is to have a big, warm, happy, slobbery dog around. Very proud of you overcoming your justified fear and adopting a great dog. May you have many years together!
Oh my, I could bore you hours talking about my boy. He will be four in November and he will have been in our lives for four years next February. He could chase and retrieve a tennis ball all day long, and even longer if the tennis ball is thrown into the water. He is not food led, unusual for a lab, he is tennis ball led, but will chase bunnies and squirrels at break net speed, but never catches them.
I love black labs and the ones we had were smart, protective, loved water and chasing balls too. I'm glad he was the one you chose.
Cajuncappy, what a cute garden assistant. Cosmo does have a habit of digging up plants that I have freshly planted but he is good company.
Awww.....what a cutie. I wish our dogs could play together. Unfortunately, mine are only about as big as Cosmo's head, so they might be a bit mismatched.
Cajuncappy such a cutie. My little dog Tootsie loves to help me when I am outside doing whatever. Her favorite thing to do is run through the freshly tilled garden doing cherrios. So after it is planted we fence it in. She has no clue that she is unplanting things.
EJ,..you took the chance adopted Cosmo and now your fear of dogs has diminished,..fully i hope,..he is a handsome fellow and i see how pleased you are,..well done,..nice field of Lavender,..nice family as well. Cajuncappy,..now there is a cute helper and taking an interest in everything you are about in the garden
