    I am so sorry for you. That is one of the hardest things to do, even if it is necessary.

    2ofus,..thank you,..yes extremely hard to decide to put a pet to sleep,..when one can see the pet is not well and instead of recovering from a Vets medication,..is getting worse and just suddenly lay down,..i spent over £500 in a three week period and nothing improved,..an eye operation for a Polyp,..which resulted in an eye Ulcer,..then another eye operation,..then blind in that eye,..then the legs giving way and toppling over on any uneven ground was hard to watch,..she developed body sores and wouldn't leave them be but started them bleeding,..probably itched,..medication could have caused this,..who knows,..i could see she was in pain that was not going to go away not matter what the Vet did,..despite my being sure at that time that i had decided correctly,..now of course i think,..perhaps i could have suggested something else.

    ======================================================================================

    After part of my fence blew down in freak winds i put up part of a screen,..tough stuff,..i wasn't sure of the colour but Eileen said it would set off any plants in front of it,..Eileen was right it works,..i had a Purple Fennel potted in my growing area and planted it in the soil,..its growing pretty well now but will really fill in next season.

    Philip, you can drive yourself crazy with second guessing your decision but don't. You know that she had no quality of life and needed to cross the rainbow bridge where she could run and play again.

    Islandlife,..thank you,..they are a real beauty,.. though one could miss out on a bloom unless a daily check is done,..even then i have had a check at 0930,..no blooms,..then four hours later one appeared,..the life span of a bloom seems less than a Day Lily.

    ===================================================================================

    Toni and Cayuga Morning,..yes second guessing my decision is not a good idea,..its done,..its just that the frame of mind before and after are not the same so doubt sneaks in :rolleyes:.

    For some years i have had Orchids growing at the bottom of my garden,..in a container and located where the Ferns grow,..they have multiplied and now there are approx 13,..i tend to forget they are there so must keep an eye out for blooms.

    We had to have our 11 yr old Field Spaniel put down on Aug 6, 2008 and even though you could tell by looking at him that the brain tumor was stronger than he was, I kept second guessing that decision for several days afterward.
    But one morning about a week later I woke up to what I really believed was him barking in the backyard and knew then that he was happy where he was.

    Toni,..that's eerie,..though strange things do happen that we can never explain,..i have made videos of Molly and before that Hodson,.. to this day i can not handle looking at Hodson's videos,..too upsetting,..i am never like that where people are concerned,..except for the old lady who lived next door,..she was 87 and i guess got through to me,..though i never let her know.

    Hi Cayuga Morning,..it was so easy,..just after blooming i noticed how there were lots of new shoots coming up,..i just cut off one at the base,..dipped it in Rooting Powder,..stuck it in a pot outdoors and it has taken along with one from another Heuchera,..the base looks as below,..so just cut off a shoot.

    Cayuga Morning,..those birds are the young of Blue Tits who have not produced the blue as yet,.. i do get mixed up with the young of Blue Tits,.. Coal Tits,..and Great Tits as they all look similar to me until they mature a bit,..the Blue Tit and the Coal Tit are small birds while the Great Tit is much bigger.

    Something you are thinking about for The Wedding Garden might interest you below.

    Sweet Alyssum 'Alyssum lobularia maritima',..it has a beautiful strong scent and will cascade down a wall or grow up along a three foot mesh as below.

    I am very pleased to see this Heucherella 'Sweet Tea',..coming to life as it almost died this year,..it had pushed itself up and almost out of a container,..i didn't notice until almost too late,..this plant was bred using ' Heuchera villosa ',..by the breeders.

    This is how,.. Heucherella 'Sweet Tea',..should look.
    June 4th 2016. 038.jpg

    Some difference,..still better than dead.

    Below is Heuchera 'Melting Fire',..for a long time i have not known the name of this plant and discovered the name tag i had made stuck at the side of the plant within the container,..just today,..as the plant moved up in the container the name tag had moved down,..got to work on this and the other Heuchera 'Palace Purple',..i now have three cuttings of each,..blame this on idle hands.

    Image of my Delphiniums captured in June.
    June 11th 2017. 030.jpg

    I was very pleased with these,..however,..isn't there always a however lol,..there should be two white Delphiniums there as well,..my own fault as i didn't spray the new shoots coming up early enough and slugs ate most of the foliage,..by the time they recovered the other Delphiniums dwarfed them and they never took off,..so when all the blue Delphiniums had finished blooming i cut them back,..two Delphiniums grew up,..are these the whites?,..possibly,..but too late as Autumn starts in 24 days,..to help i took cuttings from the new shoots.

    The new shoots,..fairly big by new.
    2017-08-26_16.03.32.jpg

    The one i am holding is the old one that never grew.
    2017-08-26_16.03.51.jpg
    A cutting from the new shoots,..just below a group of stems,..and dipped in Rooting Powder.
    2017-08-27_12.04.22.jpg

    Potted,..in moist soil,..the hole for the cutting made with a finger,..rather than just stick the cutting into the soil which would rub off most of the Rooting Powder.
    2017-08-27_12.16.50.jpg

    I always cut off quite a lot of foliage to help the cutting take root,.. rather than have it waste energy trying to grow foliage,..believe me it makes a difference.

    Foliage cut back just enough.
