I took some leaf cuttings from three overgrown succulent plants my dil was given. We don't know what they are. I did some research but still not sure of their identity. I'd like to know if I can grow them as houseplants so I need to know how best to care for them. Thanks.

    Possible Kalanchoe?

    My leaf cuttings

Not sure if my leaf cuttings will grow since after I took them I found out they are supposed to have the 'U' shape at the base which I didn't know so I'm not sure if I should get new cuttings.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

They may root like that but I just stick the lower end of the leaf into the soil slightly. The one on the lower right is fine. I have seen all these but have no idea what they are called.

Thanks Mart! Your method is what I'm used to and I may start another set that way and see which root faster.

Nice plants! The first is K. fedtschenkoi:

The red one sure reminds me of Sedeveria 'Sorrento.' There are a LOT of these hybrids that look so much alike.

(See march 30 pic in particular, with winter coloring.)

The 3rd may be a cultivar of Crassula arborescens, not sure:

The leaves do well exactly as seen in your pic. Great job! I don't have time to look through my pics (in their neglected state of me not labeling the folders for a while now) & found this handy one on google instantly, works for most members of Crassulaceae family:

Thank you so much! They sure do look like mine! I'll be reading all about them now that I know who they are. :stew1:

Glad my leaf cuttings should work. Thanks for the link!
