Ms. Kitty, I thought the function of a patio was to be a staging area for repotting, sorting out plants, and doing other gardening jobs. It seems you are putting your patio to good use!
My patio is supposed to be for sitting out in the summer enjoying the good weather. However, living in Scotland, we don't get much sunshine so now its full of planters and pots with various plants in them waiting to go into the garden. The garden furniture has been pushed to one side and has the overflow of pots gracing it.
Looking good indeed! This is one of the best times of the gardening season. I always enjoy acquiring new plants and finding a place for them. It looks like you are well on your way. Nou meid, you must show more pics as these new residents begin to come into their own.
A friend told me my deck looks like the Clampets live here. I turned around and look like I was seeing it for the first time and thought ,she's right. And it's just begun.
I do try to do my potting in the grass so it is an easier clean-up if my husband is around. Otherwise I do it right in the spot I want the container to sit if he isn't around. In the fall when we pull plants out of the containers we have a huge mess on the patio. Usually they are too heavy to carry if we have had rain ..
We are still experiencing winter weather so my desk in the computer room looks like the Clampet's live here too! This is the only "out of the way" spot to start all these seedling babies!!
My patio is a mess all the time , except when I know company is coming. So if your going to visit let me know.
Hi. I shall get told off for this. I admire all the good work being shown on this topic but a name caught my eye - it was mentioned by stratsmum - the name "Clampet". How we all in UK those years ago enjoyed their programme - it was called The Beverley Hillbillies" and was great fun, not to be missed - old Jed Clampet being a special favourite. Now related to that I have a question please and its something that has lurked at the back of my mind all these years - I refer to some of the food they spoke of - now tell me please just what are "Harmony Grits" - love to know, it will fulfil a long felt want. Syd.
