Nutgrass?

    Can anyone tell me if this is nutgrass? There is a threadlike root that runs from one bunch of grass to another (I tried to capture it in the picture with the orange bucket).     Yes,, pull it out and burn it or put it in the trash bin. You can follow the roots and there will be a tiny nut or two or three. Try to get all the root with the plant. they multiply.
