Penstemmon changing color?

    One of my purple/pink penstemon has a red flowering stem starting. Should I remove it and transplant it elsewhere, leave it alone, or shovel prune it. It is pretty so I hate to just kill it. I've never had this happen in all the years I've grown them.

    it is up to you. I think it is a lovely color. either a sport from the old plant or a seed started there from the plant itself. if it is a whole plant with its own root system you could try to move it but doing so while it is growing reduces its survival to little imo. usually it is too stressful for the plant to move it unless it is dormant. if you like it well enough to keep it mark it with a string to remember which one needs moved later.
