Plant ID Please...small cigar shaped, red flowers.

    Back in 2004 when visiting a house i noticed a lovely creeper,..it has small cigar shaped red flowers with a black eye,..they gave me some seeds which i sowed last summer,..it was slow to grow then but this year there it is again,..same place,..its got strong leaves and a strong stem,..any suggestions folks.

    I have a Cuphea that's called Cigar plant. But the leaves look nothing like your's.

    The leaves look almost like heuchera but I don't know a species that has cigar shaped flowers Philip. Sorry I can't be of more help.

    Thanks Cheryl and Eileen,..those pictures were taken in the past few days and of course the mystery plant has grown some since then,..i am hoping it will flower then we can put a name to it.

    Oh that's a Lily about to pop up beside it.
