Purple leaves plant (tree?)

    My husband brought this home from a big box store. I love it but have no idea what it is called.
    There seems to have been a few blooms in it as well. Can anyone help me id it please?

    I didn't see the blooms. They were all dried up before he got the plant. But the leaves don't look like a Castor Bean.

    I'd suspect Hydrangea or Hibiscus.

    Not sure - but doesn't look like a Viburnum Acerifolium to me.

    I think you are right, Kay. I looked up Ninebark in the net and it does seem like that's what I have. Thanks a lot!

    Tina, I think I'm right on too... ;)
    I see enough of them in my travels as a landscape maintenance supervisor, as well as growing one in my backyard.
