Our Retama is in the corner of the barn lot, and seems to enjoy its site. This is actually a west Texas tree, adapted to arid and hot conditions, but it can also get along with different soil and a bit more moisture.

We grew it from a seed, and the tree is about 10 years old.

Your Retama is a tree we don't have here in our Scottish gardens. It reminds me a little of our forsythias with its lovely yellow blooms. Well done you for getting it to grow, and thrive, from seed.
