Hi there Yonni!! I think your plant is actually an Umbrella plant. Here's a piccie of one I found on the net - looks very similar - what do you think?

From the looks of where you have it, it might not be getting enough light. When I lived in south Florida almost every yard had at least one. My Mom's was over 20 feet tall when they moved.
