So here we are just over half way through January and I have already completed 2 quilt tops which can be stored until much later in the year when I will layer and quilt them and I have nearly finished a quilt of my own design that I have been working on since September(but with a break for all that Christmas sewing). This was made from a kit I bought a couple of years ago and sewed together last week-end and which will be stored until Reuben can appreciate it. ( photo / image / picture from Kiasmum's Garden ) This is the one of my own design, made from a pack of pre-cut 10inch squares called Trade Winds. I just have the borders to piece and attach. ( photo / image / picture from Kiasmum's Garden ) I haven't uploaded the pictures of the other little girls quilt from my camera yet but it has dressing up dolls on it-which takes me right back to my childhood when these were all the rage. i think this will be perfect for Elena who will be 5 in August
Both are really lovely but my favourite is the one you designed yourself. It would look splendid in any room as it would tie in with a variety of colour schemes - my bedroom for one!! I love seeing the projects you are/have been working on and these two are just fantastic.
Those are great!! Beautiful piecing you have done. Sometimes I miss making quilts then my needle pushing finger starts hurting and I don't any miss it any more.
Y'know miss....I just remain gob-smacked when I see what all you produce with those two little hands of yours. It truly is amazing to me. Of course the "kit" design looked very nice, but your own design looks especially charming. It seems to be a typical appearance and the colours are pleasing to me. You know what I like the most about that bought kit design?--The naïve quality of the figures. I am a big fan of naïve oil paintings and in a way, this makes me think of that a little bit. Meid, it is a striking thing of beauty.
I like the jungle animals one. Any kid would love to have it. But I LOVE the one you designed. Yep.... would go well any one's home.
They're both lovely, but I like the one you designed yourself best. I admire your craftiness. The sewing machine just looks at me with a don't-you-dare-try attitude every time I try to use it.
