Hello all, It's almost winter and all of us are busy maintaining our lawn, and decorating our home. Within few more days there'll be snow fall in most of the areas and we'll be busy shoveling the snow. Snow shoveling may be exciting and many enjoy doing that. But studies show that many people die during shoveling snow. Snow shoveling increases the heart rate leading to heart attack. Along with this, please follow the following steps. 1. Check whether you are healthy enough to tackle the work and look out for the symptoms of hypothermia and heart attack. In case you feel any symptom, stop the work immediately. 2. Don't eat a heavy meal or consume alcohol before tackling the snow. 3. Shovel early because it'll be easier to break the heaps of snow and often take breaks. 4. During shoveling, push the snow and don't try to lift it. Please be careful and have a happy winter ahead.
Hilda, you brought back memories of upstate NY winters, and trying to keep the driveway clear, and a path to the house. Snow shoveling is one of the main reasons we are now in Texas (if we get a rare snow, my broom takes care of that nasty 1/8" of the white stuff!).
I'll be 63 shortly, and have said many a time (lately); This blankity blank snow is gonna kill me! Hope my clairvoyance aptitude is broken on this one.
My husband does the shoveling, I can only work on the light fluffy stuff. We get plenty of snow dumped in our driveway as the snow plow comes around the corner...I don't think I would miss it if we ever moved away...it is beautiful when it is falling but too much work for me.
