Thanks Barb... I just had my home computer "fixed" last weekend... and I don't think I have some settings restored correctly. When I logged on this evening, I didn't have any new updates here since noonish. But I was receiving notices at my office computer up until at least 3pm when I checked in last. Ohh... those people have got to get my settings figured out. I refuse to go without my Stew notifications!
Barb... you still out there? Nothing in the spam folder but "spam". Darn thing worked fine all day at the office.
Everything works fine here in South Dakota. Tomorrow I will go to Colorado and see if you work there too. Settings.... I backup everything including all settings, once an hour whether it needs it or not. It's not nice if someone changes your settings.....you may end up in South Dakota..... Jerry P.S. How did I get here??
Jerry... I think it's just some settings not configured properly. But with the big bucks I paid them... they can figure it out for me! I've been to South Dakota once for the bike rally in Sturgis. As far as I can remember... it was a beautiful area!
South Dakota has a couple of places where people blow up rocks with dynamite. And a head appears.......or four heads. Some areas are labeled bad.....Badlands...there are however, lots of good lands and people and interesting places....have you ever called a missile silo? Jerry
Cheryl, the repair people probably dumped your GardenStew 'cookie', which is easy to reset by signing in to GardenStew and updating your profile.. I think,,,,,,,,, maybe,,,,,,,,,! Hank
Frank... I had been using Mozilla, but have been trying to get used to Chrome. There was NO problem getting the notifications as I first thought... there just weren't any new notifications. I could have swore there were some when I left work and was going to check when I got home. But nothing was showing up. But the test work perfectly. So... guess it was just "user error". Why do I panic when I don't hear from the Stew? :-D On another note...and I'm sure this is "just the ways things are".... Next to the "Forums" link, numbers show up in green when there are new posts. Is there a way to keep that from clearing out when you reboot your computer?
Hi Cheryl, I've awarded a Seed to your post above just to test your notification mails. Did everything work? Unfortunately not, when you reboot your system and then visit Stew again it counts as a whole new visit session and this resets your unique counter. I did introduce a sort-of solution to this a while back and that is the "Last 500 posts" link on your home page. It will list the last 500 posts in reverse chronological order so that you can catch up on ones you missed.
Hi Frank... yep... I received the notification that you replied to my test... and that you gave me a "seed". I saw it on my office computer (using Mozilla). I left the computer at home on all day. When I got home, I logged in using Mozilla... I saw the exact same notices in my inbox and there were the "numbers" next to the "forums" link notifying that there were new posts. I logged off from there and launched Chrome... and saw the same notifications in my inbox. I also saw the "green numbers" next to the "Forums" link indicating there were new posts. So, I closed Chrome and relaunched Mozilla. No "green numbers". And when I clicked on the "Forums" link... nothing happened. I then closed Mozilla and launched Chrome... exact same thing... no "green numbers" indicating any new posts on any of the forums and when click on the "forums" link... nothing. It's got to be something in MY settings. So please don't waste any more time on this. I'll contact the company that "fixed" my computer and see what settings I need to change. And yes... I know about the "last 500 posts" feature... thank goodness it's there or else I'd really be freaking out!
