This came up through a raised bed. I was going to dig it out when it flowered. I have no idea what it is and suspect I shall dig it out anyway. But the flowers are pretty. Those are the leaves on the right and the flower is sticking out horizontally.

The flower looks like a wildflower that grows around here, but not the leaves, or at least not that I can tell.

Your plant puts me in mind of Heptacodium, Seven son flower tree but I think I may be wrong.

I had a look at the hepta thingy. Nope. These flowers and leaves are tiny. Flowers maybe 1/4" across and leaves have a little bit of a serrated feel and they are only an inch or so long and a half inch across.

Try these two, aster dumosus aka bushy aster, and fleabane. I would guess the aster, it is the one I see around here.

This thing is a not deciduous shrub; I have sometimes seen it in hedges, but cannot remember the name. I will try to take a pic of it in scale rather than close up.

It is not fleabane. We have that here and it is bigger and the flowers are a light purple. Dooley
