After being diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in April 2014 my sister passed away yesterday March 10, 2014. I am saddened and now have no close blood relatives left. I have my wonderful husband standing by my side as he always has. My sister will be very missed by both of us.
Barb I'm so sorry to hear of your sister's passing. I know just how sorely she'll be missed by you. My deepest sympathy.

Hi Barb, I am so sorry that you have lost her. She made it a year after diagnosis. I hope you & she had a chance to talk. I know you were helping her. It is a bit boggling to realize that you have no close blood relatives left. Thank goodness you have your husband and it is true that family is what you create. I know you are very warm & open with people. You have your own "family" in other ways (including all your critters!). But I am sorry for your loss.
She is always with you. In every memory of her, in every hint of her in laughter, and in the loneliest moments in the darkest of night. Every time you recall her way of walking, talking, and of telling stories, she is with you. When too comes your time to cross the rolling tide, for we are all born to die, she will be waiting for you. She will be your guide and helpmeet on the other side. Treasure her in your own way and time. It will not go unnoticed.
