Here is a photo of some of our tomatoes--the ones I couldn't fit into the refrigerator--waiting to be canned. Romas and Celebrities on the window sill and in the fridge, too. Thank heavens for the intermittent rain showers that have kept our tomatoes producing. Usually by mid-July the plants shut down, I cut them back about 1/3 to 1/2, keep them watered enough to stay alive, and hope for a fall crop. A few onions and potatoes are on the countertop.
Very nice,..you had a great crop with all those plus the ones in the refrigerator,..one could make a good meal from a selection of the other produce as well,..i like the picture as well
they look really nice but may I ask why you would refrigerate tomatoes? they get mealy when they get cold and the sugar leaves the fruit.
Carolyn, I refrigerate a few tomatoes to keep them from becoming over-ripe before I can get them into jars. The cold ones become crushed tomatoes, the countertop tomatoes are canned whole or halved. Besides, a girl only has so much counter space !
