I rescued some irises a few years ago that my neighbor pulled up and threw out. I just stuck them in the ground off the back end of my veggie garden and about half of them survived. They come up every year, but it's kind of shady there and they have never flowered. I recently bought the empty lot next to mine and the irises are now right in the middle of the path to the new lot, so I'm going to make a bed for them and some sedums that I was given, but don't know when it's best to move them.

    Can you help please?

I just read 6-8 weeks after they stop blooming but let's see what the others say as they will know best. I have a lot of iris that need to be divided and moved around this year myself.

Well, if they don't bloom at all, I'd just go ahead and move them when I felt like it.

I have moved mine in both fall and very early spring. But, like Droopy said, since they have never bloomed at all you can go ahead and move them whenever you need to. And be sure their new home is in full sun.

Thanks everyone! As soon as I get their new raised bed built, they're packing up and moving.
