I am a sucker for wayward plants. I believe this is a biennial (but could be perennial-I usually get frustrated with it later in the season and pull it up). It comes and goes in my yard over the years as it self sows. Grows second year to 4-5 feet tall and has 3 inch blooms starting in June. Continues most of July. Couldn't find it in my plants of the Pacific Northwest so it must be an import.

It looks like A Oenothera (Evening Primrose) but which one?

Thanks Palustris, that gives me somewhere to start. I was wondering if it might be in the evening primrose family from one picture I saw. Will continue to look.
