    Geranium

Look what I got from a friend the other day. I have never seen a Geranium with this coloring. I love it. It's well rooted and I will plant it this afternoon.

I've never seen one either. Do you know what color the blooms will be?

No, I was so happy to get the little plant that I never thought of what color the flower would be. Now I am excited to find that out.

What a rarity! Please keep us posted on its growth and bloom (which it will, being under your care.)

Gosh Barb that's an unusual geranium you have there. I'm looking forward to seeing it's progress and finding out what the flowers are going to look like.

So I have been trying to find out what this little thing is. Maybe someone help? I have Googled it down to, Pelargonium "Vectis Embers". What do you all think?

It actually has less green in the leaves than that.

Maybe it's just a common one that stayed too much in the dark?

She had it in her sunroom with all glass walls. I think it has just a little splashes of green on it. If it were in a dark room, I would think, that the green would be faded and it would have no strong green.

Barb, Is her whole plant that way? does it get more variegated growth at times? does she prune off the greener growth? If it is a variegated pelargoniaum what that is a mutation. This seems to have a great deal more than most...is just my guess. Enjoy it either way. btw, I have never seen anything that looked as white as that., but here is a page on them.

The whole plant was about 8 inches tall and had about 8 leaves on the main plant. what I received is a while plant shooting up alone side of the parent with 3 leaves and many roots. It looked very strong when she took it off the side of the main one.

All the leaves were white with a little splash of green in the middle of some of the leaves but not all of them. Most were all white.

Maybe it is not even a Geranium? I thought someone would have corrected me by now if it wasn't. Please chime in I won't mind at all.

The reason she gave it was because I marveled over it for so long and allot. She knows I won't just through it in a back corner somewhere.

I also think that there is a point that it's not called variegated anymore but canned something else. Anyone know of this?

Barb, It looks like a geranium to me. Does it smell like a geranium, also? I have no idea if there is a name for what you have if the plant is classified as a specific type. sorry. Just grow it and be happy for now.

Duh! I should have taken a whiff of the leaf when i asked that question.

YES it is a Geranium. Yes I will let it grow. The one leaf is withering from shock. It was in my car for 8 hours with a wet paper towel. I could see that one leaf was not going to be happy. You can bet that this plant will be watched very carefully.
