Sounds great CP! Amazing for me to picture you sitting in the sun in your back yard, enjoying it. In the north, we just got snow last night & another storm is headed our way on Wednesday. Still, though, the days are getting longer and the temps are mild for us. The soil is unfreezing. I am perusing my seed order list.

Today my husband & I continued our efforts to thin out the woods behind our house. We are trying to create alleyways of clear vistas to a stone wall at the back of the property.

Ticks are out in full force though with the milder temperatures. We hose ourselves off after every foray outdoors.

We have our share of skeeters and gnatts but the ticks are not a problem here. We were in your area last fall and camped at a camp ground passing through me and Beaux went for a walk through the camp ground the next day on the road he hopped on my lap I petted hom and was shocked. I pulled 16 ticks the big ones off a lil 12 lb doggy. I lerned a lesson for sure. That night the wife and I checked each other over good for ticks......It was fun:p

Well I transplanted lettuces and planted lettuce as well as radish seeds. I also transplanted knollau which is like spring onion, but garlic flavour. I am now off to clean the cellar.

Me sittin in the sun in our back yard no imagination needed. Spent all day scrubbing our camper loading gear and getting ready to head out for a week or 2 kinda recoup from all the mold and yard work and hopefully come back refreshed and renewed. I will try to check on yall if I can get a signal if not we will have stories and pictures when we got home and dive back in to working on the yard.

Cappy, if I bring a couple of loaves of homemade French bread, may I come to your next backyard meal? I'm drooling all over the keyboard just looking at that plate (and the beer)! Busch--I thought you'd be drinking Dixie Blackened Voodoo Lager!;)

Well yesterday, spreading and digging in manure and turning compost and weeding the tunnels. I will plant more lettuces today. We are lovely and mild. Lots of earliest spring flowers are out now.

It was time for the first planting of seeds--- Two types of toms, hot and bell peppers and broad beans. I will begin chitting my spuds in a week or two.

After I got home from taking my mom for pre-op I worked in the greenhouse potting up the remaining hanging basket plants. After supper we filled and planted tomato pots.

Well, I am recovering from having plonked myself in the forehead with my clippers. We had a no'easter last week dump a load of heavy snow, bringing down trees & power lines. My husband & I were tackling a downed tree on Saturday. I was trying to clip some branches off with an inadequate set of pruners.

I managed to muscle my way through the branch only to clonk myself in the forehead with the pruners! I am now sporting an egg and a cut. Neither of which are serious.

We are due to get another no'easter though tomorrow. Needless to say I haven't been doing much work in the garden yet.

I planted my potato seeds and more lettuces. I weeded a strawberry bed. I have some cauliflowers to transplant today.

Oyvey! take care of yourself. I heard you were to get another one... so sorry. I don't wish that on anyone. I am so glad we missed the last two big snows. I don't think I could have shoveled with my knee feeling like it does.

I watered seed beds, checked to make sure the tomato and pepper starts were doing well, and tried to convince the cats that the watering can was NOT their plaything. Our cats are water babies--love to dabble and dip!
Cayuga, how horrible! I hope you recover soon and that the nor'easter misses you entirely.
