Hello Eileen...I looked up the ID on the guppies and can tell the difference, they're looking males at the moment but what do I do if they start ripping at one another :headscratch:...oh the sucker is ace it's all over the show...I tested my water yesterday. PH 7.6, ammonia 0.25ppm, Nitrite 0.25ppm and Nitrate 5.0ppm.
So today over half the water was removed and the bio balls besides sponges was cleaned but I need to get some new bio rings as they're starting to crack put the lot back and the water will be tested and if it's ok...i'll purchase a few more fish tomorrow but i'm only going to feed them every other day and once only.

@Logan went to the holly bush at cannock today and purchased two more guppies, I ghost shrimp and two reds ones and purchased another Guorami to go with my single one and the chap really talked well with me about the tank and he said 6 guppies would be enough because of them growing...really pleased mate :smt026

I hope you don't mind all my tips about fish Gail. I just want your tank to be well balanced with the fish you choose. That's where the real enjoyment of keeping fish comes from after all. :smt045 Here's one this time about gouramis. They can be aggressive depending on the individual fish. They are nearly always aggressive to another gourami. Giving them lots of space will sometimes make them less aggressive but not always. If you see them 'kissing' each other they are actually fighting. Fingers crossed your two get on with each other.

We like Chinese things as well. That aquarium scene looks good. The guppies have nice tails. My father liked breeding them to get ever more lovely tails. He had a small tank with three glass partitions in them where he would breed selected males and females and then keep them until the females would deliver, that way he could pick and choose the prettiest. ---What a hobby, eh!?

As for the feeding, he just gave the fish a pinch one or sometimes two times every day. He would change the food from time to time...as there are all sorts of foods and, as I understand it...foods specific to fish sorts. He even raised shrimp from eggs to feed his fish with.

Are you feeling pretty comfortable with your fishies now?

BTW---that second vid that you posted I could see perfectly. Thanks for posting that.:like:

Eileen, when your starting out all info and tips are welcomed and should never be ignored and I appreciate your info and help and I mentioned your info to my hubby last night as he's keeping an eye on them also as he's got front view  but the one I added extra is a bit larger than the first and at the moment they seem ok together, it's when they get bigger I shall be watching even more...last night the one guppy who as been playing up was really domineering the all the fish and I said i'm having it out, so hubby put the net in and the crafty B went low and played a right game with my husband, so he was left in and today they've not been to bad.:)

@Logan here's the other video first thing when I woke, it's a bit shaky with my nerves first thing but they was all in view as they was just fed...if you click on the square at the bottom right of the video it brings it up large and do the same to make it smaller :like:

Hi Sjoerd, the tail on the first two I brought as been pulled at a bit but it gives it charm :smt082...well I don't want breeding because of the size of the tank and when speaking with a chap yesterday when I brought more he said for your size and what you have in 8 is enough plus growing and I don't want to over do the tank as it causes more problems but me and hubby have spoke about a larger one in the future if I want one but your dad was doing it right and getting the best of it.

I feed them every other day and only once daily as it causes a lot of algea and apparently that's fine and yes I am pleased...just need to get another two in another weeks tme...I've got in to testing the water ok and on doing the filtering system...just wished I hadn't got to keep pulling it out
