    Ladies and Gentlemen.....

May I present the first tulips of the season here. We bought them from a roadside stand out in a nearby village today. The cost was 5 Euro's ($5.50 U.S.) for 40 tulpies.

I planted red tulips about 15 years ago and they were on the verge of blooming... Until deer or rabbits (I have both in abundance) ate every. Single. ONE!

    Those are gorgeous btw

I have some tulips popping up here but I think the squirrels have eaten quite a few of them as there's not nearly the number I had last year.

That's a shame Eileen :(...I don't have any but my neighbour does, so i'll ask hubby to see if any of hers are popping up as it's to cold for me yet out doors.

Beautiful SJ. Perfect vase for them too. Who has the deft hand at arranging?

CATDA--Thanks so much. Mate, I am so sorry to hear that your bulbs were eaten by squirrels. That's awful.

    How dreadful EILEEN.

Thanks GAIL-- Glad you liked that vase-full of tulips. We buy them from the same stand every year.

Thank you CAYU--Glad you like that vase, it was bought specifically for tulips and other flowers that require this sort of presentation, so it doesn't get used all that often. We have other vases for other types of flowers. You probably know that Dutch folks always have flowers in their homes. We buy new ones just as soon as the preceding ones die. We can do this because they are very inexpensive and some sort is always in season here.
As for the arrangement....welllllllll......only one person could be responsible for that--my Bride. In fact she has an eye for arranging and vase selection. I know when I'm out-classed. In fact she was the one that took the piccy above to show off the lovely blooms.
I shall pass the compliments along to the deserving Bride.

Thanks loads, Mart--I shall call the Bride to read your compliment.

Thank you too, Kildale. I will get her to come and read.

I think that we are both a bit surprised by the warm responses to the "First Tulip" foto.

Tulips! What a nice way to get spring fever!! We’ve had cold and lots of snow here in central US. I’m ready for some blooms. That is a good price too, I think 40 stems would be a bit more pricey here.

Thanks KAY--It is sort of a normal price here...what would 40 stems cost there, do you think?

Thank you PETRO...I shall tell her.
