I put down mulch in the beginning of the growing season and in the deep heat of late summer and after fall cleanup.
I cannot say I do it all at once! The compost piles are ready by deep summer. I usually buy some Black Kow for spring. The fall round is as often chipped leaves and debris as it is black kow or leftover mulch as I begin to re-pile the fall droppings for next season.
