Its ok. As an American, I enjoy exploring the limits of what is possible. But even in a microwave safe bowl, the black and burned husks of what was at least a head of chopped garlic proved they could melt an open hole in the center of a saran wrap cover. Not sure what I was thinking , but the butter did not help. Next time 30 seconds and check it.

Started a second round of just about everything this past Sunday and they are sprouting, especially the plants in pots that didn't do all that well and veggies that I didn't plant earlier. My fall plants will not be started for another 3 weeks like @toni. Way too hot. This round is going straight in the ground...can you say buried scraps in holes? Prepping areas this weekend with all the rain that we are getting and going to get. Got some pretty stank (a bit rancid) 'compost' ready to be mixed with dry material and thrown in holes. All kitchen scraps, paper, potting soil, bokashi, hair right by my kitchen in a gray tub with lid for hot composting. Only takes about 3 days to become mush with the heat and critters in it . By the time the roots reach it...I will have my running shoes on!!! Yep, my elephant ears are on steroids from me burying scraps in the holes and I'm afraid that I may have gone a little overboard with them this year in one small area..lololol. Everything that had decomposed scraps waiting on the roots to reach it...let's just say that I knew the difference. I just may start that journal..i definitely need it to remember what is working and not.

HaHa only a southeasterner knows the word "Stank"! Thanks for the funny! I have some small elephant ears that need some food given your good description. I have mainly been just watering but I need to replenish them.

I have never softened garlic in the Zapper/microwave.
We usually grate it and stir it into whatever we're cooking, or use
    it on toast, etc.
We take the peelings, etc to the gardens usually once a day, dig
a large space, chop the peelings add dirt, chop rather fine and cover with remaining soil.

Well the real truth is that once per month I get 3 "Hello Fresh" meals delivered just to ease up on the kitchen duties for my dear wife and have a little in home fun cooking something different. I really should have followed the recipe. Really. I just KNEW I could soften garlic in the microwave. Don't ask me how I knew, but it has to have something to do with man-food-fire thing because I believe there was flame in the microwave given the charred remains of the dish.

Oh DM, please be very careful what you use in the Zapper.
Do you find thinking of meals to fix/cook is more difficult than the actual cooking?

She agrees! I woke up this morning to homemade donuts! I am glad to stay out of the kitchen and she prefers it that way too!

With so much rain yesterday soil is too wet to do anything.

I picked Kale for my daughter today. We have enough and if I keep it picked it will keep on producing.

It has been over and at 100f this whole week and the battle has been to keep the seedlings moist. I have been sprayed in the face at least 6 times today by sprinklers of one sort or another. But hey it is joltingly refreshing even wearing glasses.
