Just wait until it hits the "rebellious teen" stage--it may drop petals!

So you have pubers at home again, eh? Lucky you. chortle.
Well, I think that your Clivea is looking good. As the sun shines more and more, perhaps it will become more to your liking. Even if it does not this year, I find that the plant look pretty darn good anyway. Golly, when I see yours, I almost wish that I had them again.
    Well done, mate.

    Thanks MG & SJ.

See how the pot is on the small side? It makes the plant look even more like a teenager who has grown too tall for his pants!

OK I'm officially jealous. My clivia has sat for 2 yrs and never bloomed for me. Not even a hint and mine isn't even a teenager. More like an "old lady" .......wish mine would do something. Yours IS LOVELY! ;) :)

Island, do you know about the period of cold they need to set bud? Or rather it helps them to set bud?

CM is that the plant from waretrop? it looks lovely. well cared for and very healthy. I have a couple and mine is waaaaaay smaller as it is in a 6" pot and I have never potted it up farther but it is blooming today, too. exactly the same color.

Thanks & so glad to hear you have a blooming one also @carolyn. They are gorgeous plants and so easy to care for.
This one is not from Barb. I grew it from a seed. I have a whole bunch of seedlings coming along. They take quite a while to get to blooming size.

I take it you are feeling better now?

better than I was by a lot. I went to the doctor today for the first time in 15 years....just for to be in their system and not have the desk nazi guards refusing to take even a message for a doctor whom I know personally...Why clog up a system for someone who is not medically fragile?... alll about liability and insurance dollars.
even he said it is the virus that just keeps on and on and on this Winter. I have had something since mid December. (as soon as you get about over it, it either mutates or you get something else). I have never had so much congestion in my life as what this one was. I had my eardrum burst twice and it is still has fluid behind it.

well, for the last two weeks I was in bed before 9 and sometimes before 8... I couldn't keep my eyes open. but sleep wasn't great being that congested. finally though its better. I worked outside all afternoon. and I don't feel too terrible after being out there that long. oh ya, I developed conjunctivitis in both eyes. sheesh it was the virus that kept on giving.
