Don't you live in 'tornado alley'? Do not temp Mother Nature with a dare like that. If you hear the words "watch this" running through you head....DUCK. But yes that does look like it will be a great greenhouse.
Yeah, I live slap dab in the middle. I have seen tornados far and up close. Nothing to be messed with, BUT, I'm going to do that this year. Always wanted to do my garden in raised beds for the comfort. I'm getting too old to grovel around on my knees. I have two raised beds. one inside and the other is still to the right of the frame. Two more will be built by the end of the week. The GH is 10 X 20 and the raised beds will be 2ft X 8 ft..
I drove 2 ft. stakes into the ground. Four down each side and each end. I need to finish the door and the braces for the pipe frame, else the wind will blow it back and forth. Brace the ends at 45 Degrees to firm the structure. I'll lay down black plastic and fill with crushed stone for the weed proof floor. I'm tired of pulling weeds. I must make it solid enough that the horses won't break inside. They are such inquisitive a-holes. Last year Sweetie ate half of my tomato plants. I need 3 more beds made of wood , not ply wood.
Well I have six hay burners ! Won`t hurt them to eat tomatoes but the plants are toxic ! Not sure which is worse ! I love my home grown tomatoes !
get woven ground cover for inside, not plastic. you need it to be able to drain through. it won't let weeds through unless you poke a hole. you can also get a solar fencer and put a strand or two of electric fence around the structure to keep the horses away. trust me.. it works.
Didn't seem to hurt Sweetie when she ate the plants. They should be fine if I keep the doors zipped. I bought a grow light and put a heating pad under the tray of seedlings.
Weather took a turn for the cold here. A lot of wind and the plastic cover seems to hold. I stapled wood strips down each side to keep the wind from pulling the cover off. Tomorrow I will add the black plastic ground cover and 1" rocks over that. then I can finally plant my onions that are sitting on the front deck. .they are in 100 small peat cups and are getting a little big.
I don't think so at all. the house wrap is designed to prevent moisture from coming through from one direction by breathing out through the "membrane" it only works one direction anyway, but it would never allow for drainage of any water on the surface and you would have algae and crud and slime and slipping on it since it is a very smooth surface. I would not recommend using it in place of a woven ground cover.
A lot if it is woven, and yes putting it face down with rock on top so it egresses into the soil was my thought. A looser weave is no doubt better.
