I made a tidy schedule for my planting either in seed trays or in ground...and did ok sticking to it for 2 or 4 weeks....but now that I'm rolling along I keep finding myself ready to plant later spring things, winter squash mainly, and I think its too early.
Is it just the late May long weekend in the u.s. that compels one so?
    Thanks

Start harding them off for planting outside. You can always cover (With a blanket, etc) them if a frost is eminent

Hard to know without knowing your location ! But even though it says winter squash,, that may be the ripening and not so much the planting date ! Look at days to harvest on the package,, if you are in a cooler climate go ahead and plant it ! Even winter vegetables will make in the summer with proper care ! Just enjoy watching it grow ! I plant everything in spring !

It doesn`t hurt to plant everything at once,,,ask any old gardener ! If its staying above freezing consistantly,,plant it ! You will learn how the plants react to your climate !

My problem is that I start most of my plants from seed, so I plant about twice as much as I think I will need, just in case the seed doesn't come up. Then the seeds all germinate, and I have to find a spot for six eggplants.
