We found your door story a great one, Riley. The Bride really liked this one. She wondered if there will be a house number forthcoming. Cackle.

Wow, what a gooseberry haul Loggie ! What are you planning to do with those?

We finished off the strawberry patch, min-tilled it amd then I took the claw rake to it . Finally the little tilthing wheel and we planted borage and phacelia alternately in it.
I harvested beetroot, gherkins and courgettes. The onions continue to cure on the fence. Oh yes, and I mowed the paths and strimmed the sides and weedy areas here and there.

Thanks Sjoerd, I'll freeze them and some jam. They'll go into summer pudding with any other fruits.

You've done well with your veg.

That sounds great, Loggs. I used to grow these and like the taste. Like you point out, there are a number of ways yo use them.
    Well done you.

Thanks for the compliment on my veg.

Weeding, weeding and more weeding. Trimmed certain plants, gave lots of water and made the first run to the Food Bank. Only two crates full this first time, as expected.

Picked some redcurrants and gooseberries, do some watering. Got a lot of weeding to do but the ground is dry, tomorrow might get a bit of rain.

Aside from photos, I do loads in the garden. I am outside at 6am and finished at 10pm with a few hours break in the afternoon.

It's been quite a busy day, mostly mowing, generally clearing up after the deluge the day before yesterday and pruning our many wisterias.
They're presently throwing out new side shoots from the roots upwards nearly every day. But with regular pruning you can force them to grow where you want them to go like this one.

It also throws out more side shoots every couple of days along the entire length, I prune these off with my telescopic pruner which will have the effect of making it "bush up" along its length.
It's got about six feet to go before it reaced the corner of the house, where I'll call a halt to its lateral growth. It's suspended by wire tied to masonry nails I banged into the mortar beteen the courses of bricks.

Pruning and cleaning up. I had to do a lot in the bees today before the rain comes soon.
We picked up some winter leek seedlings today from a place out in the country.
We picked a mess of beans. Three bags put up and one meal eaten. They were so tasty.

All that I'm doing is picking fruit, it's been too hot to do anything else but tomorrow I've got to cut the back grass, that won't take long but it's just got too long because of the heat.
