Cactus Pups

    Some cacti have a clumping habit (known as cespitose) where they form clones at the base of the main stem. These are capable of becoming separate plants identical to the original.

    These are commonly known as "Pups" :) @Logan :D

    This is an Echinopsis crassicaulis, and these are the pups I rooted off her earlier in the year...

    Not all cacti will do this, some may do it only after several years, but it's a good way of increasing your stock without having to grow from seed.

    Who knows what next year might bring :D
