Men, you can give your wife jewelry, an expensive purse, or perfume, but the Christmas gift she will never forget is the year you gave her a mop. Never.

Just like the time I bought my ex wife an annual membership to Weightwatchers.

She didn't seem to forget that in a hurry :)

    Hahaha!

*whispering*: I have asked for wheelbarrows, garden trolley, new rims for the car, new Bosch IXO, scaffolding with wheels, bags of soil, bags of barkchips, and other stuff to use in or around the house over the years. My husband isn't too happy since he finds my Christmas and birthday wishlist boring, but there you go.

Yes! Gift cards to a garden center, potting soil, new clippers - all great gifts. The hubby has learned that the jewelry gets tucked away
never to be seen again most likely, but the garden gifts get used. Practical gifts rule.

Years ago my DH bought me a steam mop for Christmas. He has never been allowed to forget it either!

Just plants for spring. Mostly iris, dahlias, roses and Lily’s. I don’t want spendy purses , clothing or jewelry.
Just send a few amaryllis bulbs or paper whites my way and I’m happy.

What a great idea! Nothing says I love you like a mop. It's the perfect way to show your affection and appreciation. I'm sure wives will never forget such a thoughtful gift! I also strongly recommend refraining from repeating such a gesture. It's funny only when it's once. But if you really want to make her happy this Christmas, why not get her a lovely gift basket? For instance, guys from https://www.jetgiftbaskets.com/ might have some baskets with mops and rags. Just kidding. Please don't do it, lol. You'll have to go for a night over somewhere else.

Erm...I really, really need a new mop and bucket. With a Labrador around my old one has seen better days mopping up dirty paw prints and mud from the river.

Now Eileen—— is that what ya want, what ya really really want?
It’s a spicy reaction, I didn’t see that one coming.

    :snicker:

I asked for a broom last year. .....let's not go there....I still haven't lived it down. SO MANY puns.

One year I needed a new battery for the snowmobile. Like needed. It happened to be around xmas time and Hubby suggested it could go under the tree. I suggested that a small table could fit under there as well - perfect size for taking the remainder of his meals until the New Year.:D The battery was installed and I could use my sled that day. :)
