We had pasta salad with crackers (guess who forgot to get French bread out of the freezer!). It's too hot, even indoors, to have a hot dinner.
Mart, please post your recipe for seafood stew. It sounds intriguing, and when things cool off, I'd like to try it.

Soup, freshly baked baguettes and a film. Not particularly exciting but easy to fix on busy days.

A basic meal with the harvest of the “firsts”. Old world veg in new world ground results in out-of-this-world flavour. Mmmmmmmm.

Stuffed peppers which I prepared and baked yesterday. We had a big garden work day and I knew I couldn't cook much this evening. Tomorrow another big garden work day so it will be prime rib burger on the grill. Then Monday leftover stuffed peppers again.. cooking Tuesday...LOL During garden times, my cook days, string together...works better for me..

Peach Berry Cobbler. This time it was with blueberries. Its a LOVELY time of year! Peach Cobbler can be awfully sweet so paired with an acidic berry is a neat trick for an old treat!

Home smoked pork loin/back back bacon and tomato sandwiches tonight, with cottage cheese and garden greens on the side. The smoker is going now....can't wait.

Hello Mel, BTW—how long do you smoke your meat?
I remember back in the day, my grandparents used to smoke their own meats. I never asked how long, but I had the idea that it was a very long time.

As I said we had stuffed peckers a few nights ago. I like to made it so we have leftovers on the next for busy days. It was better the second day. This is a good microwave-able meal not instant...I like that.

I've been making a lot of sautes with fresh veggies from the garden, (snap pea pods, pea fronds, kale, garlic scapes, mustard greens, plus various herbs, etc). We put it all over brown rice & add a fried egg on top. The fried egg acts like a sauce. Delicious. Oh and we add any left over meat we have.
