    What is happening to Garden Stew? First there were somewhat acrimonious postings about climate change, and now there is an argument over "pageantry" in the UK about the queen's funeral?
    This is not the Garden Stew I've enjoyed for 12 years, learned so much about gardening and even cooking, and enjoyed the jokes and captions.
    What is happening?

    I haven`t read anything about the Queens funeral ! Probably many here do not know about the Uk`s pageantry for the process of saying goodbye to such a great queen !

    The climate change was a good cross section of viewpoints ! I enjoyed reading everyone`s opinions !

    Ever notice that in the fall of the year the gardening websites seem to follow a pattern of "nothing better to do" until the next round of planting comes along? Just my generalizations really. I am thinking brown leaves are not as exciting as green leaves.

    The science and history of our climate is fairly well catalogued. The trouble is that schools only seem to venture back for 100 years (if that) in history and generally do not teach about the real ancient history of our existence. All of the points made by us about our change of climate can be easily checked out especially as we now have the ease of looking online.
    As for our Queen's funeral, I was horrified to see derogatory remarks about the new King's wife written down as they were on the night before his beloved mother was laid to rest. It is surely a time to keep those unkind remarks to oneself. Best unspoken!

    You will only read things about gardening, cooking, and projects, from me. I love my garden and it loves me back with delicious, nutritious, bounteous food, beautiful flowers, healthy well fed deer, and lush, prolific weeds :chuckle:

    Oh - and slugs the size of Rhode Island.

    The current weather situation has affected my gardening, rather sad crops and projects quite a lot Daniel - especially this summer. I have to say though that the weeds have not been quite as lush as they usually are, and our slugs have struggled ;)

    It's pretty common on many messageboards, that sometimes long established posters with thousands of posts start telling others what they should or should not post.
    It doesn't work.
    All forums have rules and moderators. As long as posts conform to the rules, then that should be fine.
    There's a simple solution for anyone who doesn't like the content of any topic or post.

    Have you actually tried escargot Pacnorwest? When dropping nuisance snails into the salt pot they make me shudder, and I can't imagine eating them at all..... I suppose it's what you get used to??
    As this summer has been so dry we haven't seen many snails anyway - a bit sad for the frogs.

    [​IMG] Witchetty grubs are still on the menu for good bush tucker in the antipodes - don't fancy those either, but we're quite fond of whelks though...

    even my kids eat escargo when young and still beg me to cook.. lots of garlic butter . Chives and bread crumbs goes in the oven. Then when bubbly remove . Eat with a slice of French bread to dip in garlic butter and snag a warn snail and yummmm..
    These are special snails bred iIn France and imported to the US, NOT GARDEN SNAILS… yuck no way.. can’t even imagine .
