What's Looking Good in December 2022

    The goldfinches will come if there is a harvest of seeds for them on the teasel. The bees also like them. The plant is also a constant supply of moisture for thirsty small birds and insects and can be a life saver in times of drought. If you look they have little cups formed at the base of the opposite leaves that make a reservoir. This is a valuable plant to keep growing if you have space [​IMG]

    Thanks Tetters and yes i noticed the reservoir in the little cups on the stem but no birds at all, i don't have the space for such big plants, but perhaps there wasn't any seeds in them. The goldfinches like the sunflower hearts that i put out better. I do leave the lavender seed heads on the plants, one year i didn't cut them off and i saw the goldfinches on them.
