For a long time I've been thinking of growing flowers for cutting. If i grow gladioli for cutting, what happens to the corm afterwards? Will it flower the following year?

When I grew glads, I always cut some. They did grow back.Cutting glad stems off works like beheading blooming tulips— so long as you leave the pointy leaves they will feed the corms and make them larger.
It is why our tulip farmers here remove the flowers so early in the blooming season— they want large bulbs to sell.

To reiterate: cut the glad’s bloom stem but NOT the plant’s foliage.

Good luck loggie, there are some stunning glad sorts out there.

I grow glads in pots due to mice and chipmunks that enjoy the corms as a culinary speciality.
These are large pots 15-18”x20”. I mix in other layers of bulbs that bloom from spring to September. glads are DH fav flower and summer glad bouquets is a happy floral spray any time of year.
