Pac, my husband is a computer guy. So's our son. They bail me out when I get stuck. I've watched them occasionally just google for the answer when they get stumped, so I do that too now.

I remember when I got my first laptop, I had such trouble navigating it!! It drove me crazy. I remember I had trouble with "Velcro words". I don't know what I did, but I'd get a string of words following my cursor all over the screen! So frustrating.

Now I just have trouble finding things I've saved. (I'm still adjusting to a new laptop.)

Never heard of that! Sounds like some funky Windows theme that may have been activated.

Eventually granddaughter sorted the email/google problem out. Unbeknown to me. The google gremlins had set up two accounts and they were clashing. So to coin Henry Hall's signing-off. Here's to the next time.

Cor Mike, ''Here's to the next time'' took me back a bit. I'm really glad your granddaughter sorted the email problem for you. Youngsters do come in handy sometimes.

Riley doesn’t your computer save all your passwords in settings under passwords?

Yes it does, but the one it was saving wouldn't work.
So I changed my Virgin Media one which must be linked to Windows mail and the both then were working.

    Save starting a new thread.
Today I received an email from Virgin Media. My monthly charge is going up by £7 a month, making mine £47 per month. My bundle, as they call it is just broadband and land line phone(free calls) I hate phones of any kind, so I seldom make outgoing calls. Recently I went two minutes over, 1hr 2 mins. They billed me for the full duration.
Contacting them. You never speak to the same person twice. More often than not, you can't understand them as most operators are foreign.
At one time my charges went upto £59 per month, despite having been told, 'you have been with us for so long. Your bill will never go up.
I used to be with Cable & Wireless that changed to Vidiotron and then Virgin Media was born. I will try and get a reduction, failing that, I can always use the computers at the public library.

I'm with Virgin, before that NTL, before that with Cable & Wireless, before that Nyneex, when cable was first installed in our road. Before that we were with B Sky B with a "squarial"

So I've been with Virgin for about £20 Years.
    At the moment, we have.

    • Television:
      • TiVo Monthly Fee
      • TiVo Credit
      • Full House TV (Xl) This includes BT sport and Eurosport.
      • 1 Additional TV Box (We've two TVs connected to Virgin)
    • Broadband:

      • M125 Fibre Broadband
    • Telephone:
      • Talk More Anytime, we don't get charged for calls.
      • Telephone Line Rental
      • I get a £17.00 a month loyalty bonus.

    • I'm paying £81.25 a month
    • Before Christmas, they e-mailed me to say my loyalty bonus of £12.50 would end in January as well as there would be an increase in what I paid. At that time I was paying £85.25
    • I phoned them and told them .and politely, that if my loyalty bonus went, so would I.
    • So they increased the bonus to £17 and cancelled the price increase.
Next year it'll be another rip-off.
Bills will be going up by the RPI rate of inflation plus 3.9%
So there will be more "negotiations."

I'm, pretty sure, they charge people what they think they can get away with.

I have recently tried my hand at using ZOOM. I like it. Mind you, I haven't as yet joined in the conversations.
It's great. One visit was with The Rose Society UK of which I am a member. The speaker was the recently retired main manager of David Austin roses. The next zoom was with the RHS Lily group. Once again great IMO.

The use of zoom will benefit me greatly, as not having a car anymore and health condition I can keep in touch. Future meetings of the Linnean Society London will also be within my reach.

Ooh heck Mike, I'd never even heard of Zoom, and had to ask Ziggy about it. Good for you. :like:
