When the icicles form, they are of course facing downward. But in the right conditions, the ice on the porch roof slides with the icicles in tow, so they face the house. It always intrigues me when it happens...and looks a little sketchy. :)

Better be careful around those, Mel. They look kind of creepy to me.

Oh, I don’t know—scary? Well, The way it looks, looks sort of interesting. I wouldn’t want that mass of snow and ice to slide off onto me though.
    Nice pics, Mel. Thanks.

Where they are is a "no walking" zone in the winter. It's not a shoveled pathway so I get to just watch them. It gets even more interesting when the snow begins to soften and curl more and they turn into themselves.

When it warms enough to use the clothes stand for sheets and bedding, Hubby takes a scoop shovel and knocks it down. ( he gets all of the fun on this one).

Thanks Netty. I think part of that is them pointing at the house - or at me? ;) It's not natural hahaha YET...it is. Kind of a funny thing. I look at it every time I go outside and take a pause.

That looks like a very cold set of teeth ready to eat you! Glad you don't have to walk anywhere near those.
