French Onion soup, but with bell peppers, tomatoes and sauce, and honey rolls instead of french bread, and beer instead of wine, and mirin instead of sherry. I asked DW to taste it and see what I screwed up. She could not come up with anything for my trick question.

DW made chard pie (quiche) from the garden for the first time this season. I really enjoy chard that way. Maybe its the only way but I like it.

DM, that's a great idea! I planted a full row of Swiss chard one year, and then found out my husband didn't like it. Fortunately the neighbors did!
I have made a quiche Florentine with fresh spinach, and even with frozen spinach. I wonder how a chard quiche would go over. If it didn't, it could go over to the neighbors!

Yes Mel, it was wonderful. I have looked so long for a type of sugar pea that met my criteria. It looks like this year I have found it— “Sugar Bon”.

Tonight is a grilled beef striploin, and a spinach and romaine caeser salad. I found some sneaky spinach under the shaded area of the upper garden - so in the tummy it goes.

Do tell more about this Sjoerd....puhleeze. I was eye balling my leeks today. Other than bacon wrapped leaks with a nutmeg bechemel, I only know to use them in place of onion in soups and stir fries. We are big curry fans. :)

How to make the leek curry— take the mix bag, add water, egg, potatoes and melk, let your hub stir it, then add it into the pan when it is ready. We eat simple.

You then add all the extra things that are on the front and anything else you want, like your own hot peppers.

This packet is designed to make an oven dish, but the Bride just cooks it in a pan.
    Tuck in.
