I am talking about beetroot and what we call “snijbiet” (Swiss Chard). This year we germinated them in cells at home, to be planted out after hardening-off. The beetroot we also planted some seeds directly into the bed so that we could see if there was a development difference. Beetroot plantlets were planted alongside the the smaller in situ planted seeds: Then after a few weeks: The smaller plants were planted in situ. then the Swiss Chard. Here you can see the plantlets raised at home set out when the beetroots were planted out. Then after a few weeks: They are coming right along now, aren’t they. We will do the first harvest very soon.
Your beetroots looks good even the smaller one in between. I am sure they will grow well. I have not planted beetroot for a long time for the simple reason that it is difficult to get good beetroot seeds. I'll start looking for them again.
