I love apricots too !! I have two that were supposed to be bush apricots. :smt018 nope. One is over 15' tall despite my pruning it and the other has cooperated and is bushy but no apricots on either. Neither has even attempted to flower yet, but the tall one helps to shade my veg somewhat so, not a total bummer !! :D

Update on the Performance so far.

I have one potato that's not thriving. Don't know if it is diseased or just got stressed or what.

The rest of the "Taters" (as people down here say) are much more healthy looking.

More pics of the progress. The fava beans have white blossoms on them. I've never grown Fava beans before so I didn't know what they'd look like.

Without those raised beds I can't grow much veg. My soil is very sandy and poor. It drains so fast that I can dig a hole a foot deep and wide, fill it with water and by the time I fill a second hole, the first one has totally drained away !! Plus I have root knot nematodes in it. That makes the Solanaceae family of plants impossible to grow in it. So good soil, lots of compost in the raised beds and I can actually grow stuff !!
    :p:D

Time to dig out my one red potato plant which "may" have gotten blight. I'm really not sure, but if it is blight, it didn't get to the stems so the potatoes "should" be ok. I am going to try a small one and if I don get a stomach ache, I guess they're ok !! :p
Not a big crop but, at least I didn't cut any in half with the shovel !! :smt044
I did throw out the plants and the mulch so that if it were blight, the spores aren't (hopefully) still present.

Then the winter squash, supposed to be a "bush" baby variety of butternut got trellised. Why do I always have bush varieties that nobody informed them of such !! :smt044

If you look closely there's a volunteer tomato plant in there. It looks so healthy that I didn't have the heart, ( this time) to yank it out !! :)

Don't be intimidated !! You have a perfect climate for growing them in. If you have a late frost you can just cover them with a cardboard box over night. Try them @Shawchert !! :like:
