Do you sell those that you potted on or do you wait for them to get bigger?

    Both :)

If they don't sell this season I pot them on for next. There's a fine line between selling them and them getting too big to move :D

These are some that get re classified as "Specimen Cacti" They fetch up to about £40, which I don't think is too bad looking at what some growers charge for them :)

I tried growing cacti from seed years and years ago. Only about 5 from the whole seed pack germinated and, although it was supposed to be a cacti mix, they were all the same. I gave them as little gifts to gardening friends. That was in the 70's !! :smt103

They often seem to be similar seeds in the mixed ones but I have had a few gems from them :)

Devil's Fingers was in one packet and I got a huge spikey Opuntia that I still haven't identified. The seem to have a lot of Echinocactus platyacanthus seeds in them, which is ok if you want a cactus that's bigger than you and weighs as much as a Hippopotamus

This is a Devil's Finger (Echinocereus pentalophus) I got lots of seed from this one and have a tray of baby ones now :)

That does look a lot more like him !!
That one in the picture, though, is a nice looking, attractive cactus.
Cousin It is still the ugly step-child of his family !! :smt044
