I read all the time. I love historical fiction and mysteries. I think I may have lived a past life in the 1800s, through WW11 in England. I’m very drawn to that time and place

I read 2 books in the WW2 time period

The booklovers Library By Madeline Martin, which is about a single mother during the beginning of WW!! in england
The Nightengale by Kristen Hannah which is about sisters in France in WWII

Both are historical fiction but they are both really good books!

Stihl MM55 cultivator manual. Becky brought it in with a broken driveshaft after 3 rows. She had carpal tunnel surgery so I have a window of time to fix it before the garden hammer falls again.

Reading Bob Woodruff's In and Instant. Marvelous how ABC stepped up and provided him and his family transportation, and the head of the news bureau personally went to tell Mrs. Woodruff about her husband's accident.

Books in the James Bond series, including the newer ones by Anthony Horowitz.

On a more serious note, American Midnight by Adam Hochschild. The historian describes social and political turmoil in the US in events leading up to WWI, then through and after the war, a situation with a lot of parallels to today's situation here. It's interesting reading but I can only manage a chapter at a time.

I read short stories mostly because I am a slow reader, and I don't have much patience. But once in a blue moon I find a book that holds my attention long enough to get immersed in it. I just found one that absolutely floored me. "A Sense of An Ending" by Julian Barnes If anyone has read this, and is a fan, do you have recomendations on other books I may be interested in ?

I haven't read that book but what I do is look for other books by the same author because if you liked how that book was written, you'll probably like at least some of his other books.

First thing I did but unfortunately it is his best rated book BY FAR !! So I am afraid its all downhill from here for that author. But I hope my assumption is wrong.
But maybe members can post the one Best Book they have ever read in their entire life. Might give me some leads. Funny how one book can jump start a craving.

I'm sure you wouldn't want to read my favorite books. They are Historical novels about Witch craft.
