Not far enough enough away. But we're safe at the moment. @Daniel W it's about 20 miles east of us. Our summers have become frightening here. Our winds from the east are frequent. So when these fires start, even 20 miles from us, the rate they travel through the Columbia River gorge can be lightening fast. 2017 was summer we will never forget.

The fishing is fabulous here @Jersey Devil . Our little secret. We are all fishermen. Salmon and steelhead being one of the most healthy things you can eat, we fish often. Nothing biting for a few weeks now so our supply is low.
Since visiting Norway some 20 years ago I learned to love eating fish for breakfast. I can't get enough.
