Thanks @Columbiariver i freeze them all and then I'll make a summer pudding, have some with my porridge and make a mixed fruit compote.

Do yours set fruit ? if not it's lack of polinators, if they do it's probably birds, they'll eat them before they're ripe.

Been out all morning in the garden....it may sound a long time time ( often feels like too) but I work slower and can't currently carry all that I use to in one go.

I've been placing the remaining plants around the borders trying to work out what looks best where, I've left actually planting them out until this afternoon....in case I change my mind. I've also be doing the same with some bigger permanently potted ones as well.

Added some back support to a clump of Goldenrod as it tends to lean towards the path when fully grown, likewise with the nearby Plox too.

Cut back some overhanging branches on the Latvertera that droop over the pathways and also overshadow some other plants , they get heavier when in full bloom.

Hi @Logan. I checked my bushes again yesterday. I believe it's been 9 years since I planted the mother currant, and I made multiple plants that surround it now. There are a few berries starting. Only one or 2 per what could have been a clump if producing at capacity. I will read up on who pollinates them and see if I can add something to help.

I am very happy with the large number of insects this year. Lots of lady bugs! I'm about to go out and harvest thimble berries, raspberries and strawberries oh my!

@Columbiariver what type of currants have you got? The blackcurrant needs different pruning to the other currants. Never do well with raspberries and strawberries.

Finished weeding the border with the fruit trees and added some summer bedding.

Had to do some gentle cutting back of the Hypericum as some of the Dahlias were getting smothered.

    Edged the lawn .

Deadheaded the Sweet Peas ,Roses and Petunias.

Day off tomorrow ,off to Salisbury. :)

Lo lidow_2025623141541752.jpg @Logan i have the red flowered currants that I'd like to get a few berries from someday. I have 5 or 6 of them, one being the mother plant. I also have black currant ( from what can tell, that's what it is) that was a gift from the birds. It's really healthy looking but I haven't gotten near it yet this year. I'm going to attach a photo I took this morning of red currant. I think they are not being pollinated, like you said.

Last night I got my raised beds all watered and this morning I had to take Rags to her favorite place, Pet Smart, to get her nails grinded. Then it was way too hot to do anything outside until 6:30 pm. (9 4°f @6 pm) At that time I spent an hour and a half mowing grass. All I have left is some weedeating along the fence and mowing with the 21" electric mower where the big 4 2" mower doesn't fit. Tomorrow morning it's picking more blueberries.

To wet to do anything today.

The Grizzly garden vac I bought a couple of years ago, packed up earlier in the year. It was over £100.
So I replaced it with a much cheaper Flymo. It works well but it's a pain to change from "blow to vac" as bits have to be taken off and other put on every time.

So I've just bought this on-line, for much less than fifty quid. It will do both, with the turn of a switch, like the Grizzly.

But I'm going to keep the Flymo, just for "blow," as it's quite strong and the other mostly for vaccing.

Biggest job was reorganising the shed, so I could have the new one hanging on the wall with the other and my strimmer.
