    Today the veggies got watered.
More tatties were lifted, a handful of toms for a salad and a snack cuec.

The three sisters look ridiculous, so chaotic.

I am not sure how well this will work this year. We did it about twenty years ago. It was disappointing then too.

@Sjoerd the three sisters need 100% heat and full sun. I had 5 beans a foot away from each corn and the corn 18" or so apart with squash around the edges to fill in between the plants and keep the soil covered up and it worked really well.

Puttered some more with the squashes. I feel optimistic about them.

Figs are getting closer. I tied up some heavy branches.

I watered quite a bit. I don't know how well the drip system is working.

Oh sorry zigs, scale is tricky to eliminate. I see the wires… It’s a jungle out there this time of year.

We are now being assaulted by grasshoppers. Hate those noisy lil buggers. The clicking sound grasshoppers make reminds me of when we were kids putting a card from a deck of playing cards attached to the bicycle spokes with a close pin .

Daniel your garlic and squash look great . Yummmm
Have you got grasshoppers up there yet ? There are some starting to move in the pastures here.

Thank you @Pacnorwest and @Zigs . I had a really super day yesterday. Treated to a lovely lunch out then on for a leisurely stroll through a park. We stopped off at a popular Italian Ice Cream Parlour for some delicious cooling delights. Spotted an Eastenders actor and his family at a nearby table too. Then we had a fabulous evening meal, accompanied by a birthday cake!!! Spoilt...most definitely.:D

    @Oreti happy birthday

Won't be able to do much of anything for at least 6 weeks. I've broken my wrist last night. Woke up at 12.30 went to the bathroom when i got back into the bedroom instead of turning right to my side of the bed i carried on forward and tripped on the rug. Hubby took me to A&E at about 1.30 and stayed there until 7am. At 5am hubby went home to take the boys to toilet and came back, I've got it in plaster but got to go to the fracture clinic tomorrow at 10am.

Oreti— What a delightful report. I am so glad you had a good time.

Annie— we will see how it goes. I ought to have planted bush beans instead of climbers. Ach, but those are what I had. It was more for the fun of doing it than seriously trying to do it according to Hoyle.

Daniel— that stuff looks really good. The garlics look superb. Chapeau.
Ach, it all looks good, mate.

I'm happy that you had such a nice Birthday @Oreti .

    That's according to Montezuma !! :p @Sjoerd.

Bummer !! @Logan. Hope you heal fast and crossing fingers you won't need surgery or have complications.

I wish I could grow garlic @Daniel W that is a very nice crop !!:like:

I did a bunch of deadheading and pruning last evening and got my new no flat tires for my handcart in the mail yesterday. They are good ones with grease fittings and will carry 1200 pounds so, if I need to move a baby elephant, I'm all set !! :smt044

Pac, I've seen one. We have 8 chickens now, and two ducks. They may be eating them all. Less food to buy.

That reminds me, yesterday the three young ones flew out. Time to clip wings.:smt117
