Remember I wrote hot? I wasn't kidding. 97°f with a heat index of 110 !! Muggy as crap and at 8pm my poor zinnias out front had started wilting. No wonder, it was still 95° outside. I turned the sprinkler on them and last night, Sunday night, I watered the veg garden. Right now I have to stay up til 11 so that I can shut the sprinkler off at that time so that tha zinnias get 3 hours or 1 1/2" of rain. It was supposed to rain today and tonight but so far nothing but extreme heat.
Good morning all, partly cloudy and light winds temp 15c to 20c Precipitation 17% Sunrise 5.13 Sunset 21.15 Maybe some rain later
Yowza 97 degrees is unbelievably hot. Stay cool and hydrated. Keeping the garden happy in those temps is a lot of work . Have you tried the sprinklers that you can’t set a timer to water and they shut off automatically.? There are many types available . They come in handy in those dog days if summer. Zinnias are a beautiful flower and usually do well in the heat with afternoon shade. Hope they do well for ya . I just love their tiny little flower blooms in the centers that keep on blooming as they age for weeks. A easy annual here .
Full sunshine at the moment , no rain is expected today. We are off out for the day again over the border into Wilshire to visit lovely Salisbury. It reminds me so much of our beautiful Winchester, old buildings brimming with history.....love them both. Weather is exactly the same as ours here. It's only about 25 miles away.
It was miserable due to the humidity and not a bit of breeze. We are used to the high 90's here but when you have 89% humidity accompanied with it, you melt. The zinnias in the bed infront of the house get full sun all day. Only that bed was panting !! The others, the ones on the South side, get afternoon shade and were still hanging in. Thankfully all were recovered this morning. I have been planning on a timer but just haven't gotten a "round tuit" yet !! I Today is only 92°f for the high. It was 80°f at 7am when I took Rags out for morning pee pee. We are, again, supposed to have rain but we will see.
All day it was cloudy and still is, just had a bit of rain with light winds from the north west temp 17c feels like 19c
Nice weather here today. Much like my across the pond friends. We get a lot of marine layer cooling making this summer very pleasant. And some days the temps will go into the 90’s. But getting a lot of garden projects done done in cooler temperatures.
Good morning all, partly cloudy and light winds temp 14c to 21c Precipitation 0% Sunrise 5.14 Sunset 21.13 Sunny intervals later
Will it or won't it....that is the question. Currently we have full sunshine. We're not going to chance it so are off into nearby lovely Winchester this morning to browse and visit the Farmer's Market. Have a great day.
