Morning, why is this site so slow on my PC? Everything is working fine but Garden Stew. Takes 10-15 seconds for everything to load. Is this a hint ??:smt090

Fixed now (mostly)! We had a lot of unwanted visitors hammering the website i.e. bots. Made some changes to stop them.

Good Wednesday morning all. Currently 17°C and overcast. Its probably still the smoke as there is still a special air quality warning in effect.
We still haven't had any rain. I don't remember going this long without rain before. I was looking at the farm fields when I walked the dog yesterday and noticed how the crops are suffering. I sure hope we get some rain soon! There is a 40% chance of rain this afternoon, and a 40% chance of a thunderstorm on Saturday but thats all. Fingers crossed.
Off to work, for another day of watering things and trimming hedges.
Have a great day all :)

Garlic would work better !! :D

I need to get going starting my winter veg seeds under the grow lights. My ambition has waned completely, close to being nonexistent !! I also need to paint a couple door frames that got nicked up and get my potting shed in order. Someone needs to give me a kick in the pants to get me going !! :(..

We still haven't hit a three digit temperature, which is very nice. However, the humidity is high. The weather person on a local TV station defined humidity as "excess water in the air, left over from the rain." Thank heavens for the National Weather Service!
We cleaned and refilled the hummingbird feeders this morning. While the feeders were inside getting scrubbed, the hummers made do with zinnias and the salvia greggii. Poor things, they actually had to work for their food!
    Hope today reaches your expectations!

Good Thursday morning all. Currently 18°C and clear. The smoke has finally cleared, so this may make for a hot day today!
Squished my finger the other day and now its swollen and the nail is turning purple at the base. Its going to have to grow out, but hoping I wont lose the nail. It hurts like the dickens!
Thursdays are usually grass cutting days at work, but it has been so dry that the grass isn't growing. I'm sure that theres lots of trimming to do, and theres always hedges to trim. Theres always something to do so I wont be bored!
Have a great day all :)

Good Friday morning all TGIF!! Currently 17°C and clear. Another hot dry day ahead. There is a 40% chance of an afternoon shower again today, maybe I'll be lucky this time.
Another work week almost complete, and I refused to let myself get stressed out about anything I had no control over. I am heading into the weekend feeling good!
Today, more watering and a bit of grass cutting.
Have a great day all :)

Good Saturday morning all. Currently 19°C and clear. Its going to be a hot, humid day today with the humidex reaching the mid 40's.
We had a short rain shower early evening yesterday. It wasn't too much, but it may have helped a little. My rain barrels are all back to about half full.
I've got some yardwork to do and his afternoon we are headed to an engagement party for my daughters skating coach. She just got engaged to her boyfriend of 4 years and is getting married next September. It should be a fun day!
Have a great day all :)

Drove to Portland to meet with a buyer for the vintage Morse sewing machine, and sold it. I'm very happy to find a home for it. It's a fine piece of engineering, runs beautifully, and solid as a tank. I really wanted to find a new home for it.

Then, I mentioned to the Quilts of Valor coordinator that I was trying to find a home for my great grandmother's nearly century-old quilt. She emailed some contacts and found someone who was delighted to find it. So I gave it to her.

These items had been "sticking points" in the decluttering journey, because I didn't want to just take them to the thrift store. I feel like some more weight is lifted from me.

It rained, so that gave me a break from watering and working outdoors in the sun. I did some quilt work, moving closer toward finishing the two that I've been working on this summer.

Good Sunday morning all. Currently 20°C and clear. It is very humid and another sticky day is on the way. Heat isn't going to break until Wednesday or Thursday and then we may get some rain. The ground is horribly dry and cracked, and the gardens and lawns are suffering. There has also been an increase in forest and grass fires in the province due to the drought conditions. The farmers crops are suffering too. Can anyone come do a rain dance for us?
Not too sure what is going to get accomplished around the yard/house today due to the heat. DD wanted some zucchini brownies, but I don't want to use the oven and heat up the house.Sounds like a lazy day ahead, maybe spent by the pool.
Have a great day all :)

Good Monday morning all. Currently 20°C and clear. Weatherman says its going to be another hot day today, with a humidex of 38°C. Hopefully this is the last hot day because tomorrow its finally going to rain!
Off to work, where I'm sure its going to be a day of a lot of watering. The countdown to the next weekend begins haha
Have a great day all :)
