Oreti I miss Chinese lanterns they were truly a show stopping border plant and great to use the stems dried for holiday decorations. :)

And thanks for the interesting link on the shoo fly plant. I don’t believe I’ve ever seen that plant.

It's amazing to think back to some of the plants I use to grow. It's a bit like fashion....trends come and go I suppose. Will definitely look out for some of them again.:like:

Logan now that’s a beautiful rose and a special color for fall . Pinks are a fav color in the late season garden. It always offers a nice contrast of color against the background of foliage greens that can sometimes over take the late summer gardens. That’s why I also try to included a lot of different colors of small evergreen shrubs like the pinks, reds, yellows, lime greens and blue greens to hold winter interest once fall ends and deciduous leaves have all fallen . Once they shed their gorgeous fall colors leaving the stage for winters color to maintain the beauty of contrasting colors to keep the winter garden alive and to hold interest. These amazing evergreen shrubs and trees never allow the snowy season to entirely abolish garden color that make our gardens glow with color even in snowy winters.

    Stunning fotos, Pac and Pac.
That tiger Lilly is perhaps old-fashioned, but it is so lovely it never looses its allure.

Cool rainbow !! Did someone die? I thought rainbows were infrequent in the UK. I heard that on TV, ( don't know how accurate that was). When the Queen passed away (I think she didn't go on her own, but I digress... ) the reported that there was a rainbow over the Palace and that rainbows were infrequent ???
