Photography, landscape design, painting, different crafts made with items from the garden , painting, a certified judge at the county and state fairs for plants , fruit, floral department and flower arrangement shows .
Training the new pup obedience, sits and stays, behavior modification and the agility course. She is such a talented athlete .

Today Roxy got a box of new toys and she jumped right in and opened up the box, unwrapped her new toys and made a polite thank you pose for her new toys. She’s ‘Comedy Central’ around here always full of funny humerus displays and always begging for attention at play time. Never a dull moment. A really entertaining, smart fun pup.

    What’s in here?

I'm usually on my computer 10 hours a day, but internet got a little pricey, so I cut it off and decided to just use the library computers. Now I'm on standby with Starlink ($5 a month) and I can do just about everything I used to do on the computer. Course, it takes ages for the pages to load.

So I've been reading like crazy all summer and doing some writing of my own. I just finished a story and am starting on a second one.

Last winter when it was so cold, I got a dollhouse kit and totally revamped it into a 1950s split level. But I lost interest in that as I began to garden again. Maybe this year I can finish it.

I'm hoping next summer I can get my stuff out of storage. One of things I have in storage is a telescope. I'm an amateur astronomer and now that I'm living where there are dark skies, I'd love to get the old scope out and do some viewing.

@rodentraiser Winters are always a good time to do a few extra things we don’t have time for during gardening season. I hope you get a chance during winter to finish the house kit. I put one together during winter too. Painted it, but placing the roof shingles was a nightmare, tiny stamp sized wood shingles nearly drove me crazy…managed to find some inside mini furniture that was a bit too spendy , not all the rooms are complete. Keep thinking I will eventually finish the inside now that the outside is done and give it to my grand daughter. It’s small 4’x3’ , 2 story, light weight all wood but nice size to display in a weird sorta way over a floating closet just to fill a blank space for now & out of the way easy to view and forget for now. I gotta be in the mood to plan new rooms and to sit still.

I’ll make ya a deal you post your doll house … then… I’ll post mine. :smt023

I have a lot of interests.

Besides my garden and my home, I am active in my church. We have a Community Center to help poorer people and I work there every week. I play piano and organ at church. I mostly taught myself to play. I am not Mozart or Beethoven, but I enjoy it a lot. I got a piano earlier this year from friends, and my 6 year old granddaughter claims it is hers. So I told my son that she can have it when I am gone. I hope to teach her how to play when she learns to read enough. She is in kindergarten, and learning to read. She likes to pretend play the piano for now. I want to order some pre-lesson books for her soon.

I no longer drive either, so friends take me when I need to run errands and stuff. There is not really any public transportation here.

I love to sew, but usually save that for rainy days. I love to read non fiction books, like biographies and histories. I am currently reading "Refined by Fire" by LTC [ret] Brian Birdwell and his wife Mel Birdwell. He was in the Pentagon a few feet from the impact of flight 77 on 9/11, and burned over 60% of his body. It is their story of how God helped them through that ordeal.

I like to write also, and have had a few small things published. I need to get back at my writing.

Wow !! So lovely to hear about other interests everyone has. It's so very important to have other interests ( especially if they're not as physical as gardening so allowing our bodies to recharge;)) it keeps the old grey matter engaged and challenged.

    Can't wait to see your doll's houses @rodentraiser & @Pacnorwest !!!
I find the night sky really fascinating, I often recall the times that my brother ( long before Alzheimer's claimed him) and I would sit out here in our garden until very late chilling out on the recliner chairs and exploring the night sky in awe of it immense vastness and beauty....memories I will treasure.

I adore piano music I have playlists devoted to it, it's the only real music that I can feel myself physically unwinding and relaxing to. If I can't sleep I just play some and soon drift off. Your granddaughter @AAnightowl is so very fortunate to have a Grandma who has such a talent and is willing to pass it on to her along with a piano that she will undoubtedly treasure forever.:)

Oreti your descriptions from others interests posted is so very nice to read. You always say the nicest things. Your kind comments mean a lot to many of us who responded to the challenge of what interests , hobbies hold our attention, minds and souls thru life’s ups and downs.

I too enjoy the night skies . My DH and I would sit out with a glass of wine under the gazebo at disk and watch the bats catch insects. Their fling techniques were amazing to watch.

Well here ya go…dollhouse pics. With a couple inside rooms finished . It’s up high, just grabbed a quick pic .
I think after putting this doll house together I can build my own home… details, details, details. Drove me crazy.

Aww thanks Pac, I speak as I find. There is so much talent on here to admire and interesting subjects being shared.

Oh gosh that looks amazing....what detail !!! I wasn't quite sure what to expect. It definitely looks like an intricate build....you must have the patience of a saint!!!:setf_016: Have any little people moved it yet?:)

I agree Bats are so fascinating to watch ,they are the acrobats ( :snicker:) of our night skies. We have them living in a section our loft, the only thing I'm not too keen on is when they swoop and dive so low that I can feel them rush pass me, this always seems to happen when I empty the rubbish bins in the evening despite trying to sneak about as quietly as I can. :D

Oreti thank you. I think patience is part of our learning to skills to use in future projects . It’s always a bit more complicated than we imagine. Pushing ourselves through difficulties can make us a little bit stronger and better prepared for what’s next.

Thanks Anniekay. Appreciate your input. Kind off reminds me of the gorgeous trim and design on your house -
The Victorian era of Gingerbread trim .

I wish I had a big Victorian like that. Mine's just a Folk Victorian. Minimal gingerbread and 10' ceilings. The affordable small house of the time with just enough fancy millwork to say it's a Victorian. It's been dolled up just a bit.

Jerseydevil .. Roxy my pup always knows just how cute she is and she knows just how to use her doggie power to get what she wants.

Playtime is her game all day every day.
